Max&Co. adds a new chapter to its &Co.llaboration project, partnering with Florania, the independent label founded in 2021 by Flora Rabitti.
The Mantova-born designer and illustrator studied at Central Saint Martins in London and the Institut Français de la Couture in Paris, with experience across leading fashion houses. Zero waste, no gender, and no season are the defining traits of the brand, which won the Max&Co. Design for Change award presented by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana at the 2023 CNMI Fashion Trust.
"Three key characters serve as the common thread: a Sailor Man who mends his clothes; a Punk who transforms garments into rebellious uniforms; and an Auntie who passes pieces down to her grandchildren, magically restoring them."
These are the Circular Fighters — figures devoted to respecting matter — brought to life through the prints of the collection.
The capsule pieces are limited edition and individually numbered, made from pre-consumer yarn waste held in stock. The collection includes organic fabric sweatshirts, garments in viscose yarn produced respecting forest heritage, and recycled fabric pieces. Key pieces include vintage-effect mélange knit sweaters, denim skirts, cable-knit pullovers in patchwork construction, illustrated t-shirts, dresses, and a patchwork bag made from uniform scraps.
